Representative Projects Elkhorn Slough Foundation, Parsons Slough Sill Project, Monterey County, California
Vinnedge Environmental Consulting is the contract manager for the regulatory compliance portion of the Elkhorn Slough Foundation’s Parsons Slough Project. The wetland restoration project is being funded by a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Restoration Center (NOAA RC) to design, permit and construct a sill at the mouth of Parsons Slough in the larger Elkhorn Slough Estuary. The goal of the restoration project is to reduce tidal marsh loss and habitat degradation throughout the system from tidal erosion of the channel, creeks, mudflats, and marsh banks and tidal flooding of interior marsh areas. Vinnedge Environmental Consulting prepared the IS/MND in support of this project as well as all documents, regulatory permit applications, and grant reporting documents. Ms Vinnedge is responsible for compliance with Section 7 of the Federal Endangered Species Act and Marine Mammal Protection Act. She successfully acquired Biological Opinions and Incidental Harassment Authorizations from NMFS and USFWS for project effects on southern sea otter, harbor seal and special status fish.

Ironhouse Sanitary District, Wastewater Treatment Expansion Project, Contra Costa County, California.
Vinnedge Environmental Consulting prepared all environmental permits applications necessary for the expansion of the Ironhouse Sanitary District (ISD) wastewater treatment facilities, which included a new tertiary treatment facility and a direct discharge into the San Joaquin River off the north shore of Jersey Island. Ms. Vinnedge assembled and managed resource specialists and regulatory compliance specialists to assist ISD in completing wetland, botanical, and wildlife surveys, and to prepare documentation to support regulatory permit applications. Ms. Vinnedge prepared a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Biological Assessment for project effects on delta smelt and giant garter snake, and a NMFS Biological Assessment for project effects on anadromous fish, including green sturgeon. Other services include biological monitoring for construction activities, pre-construction surveys, environmental awareness training, construction monitoring, post-construction monitoring and completion of annual reports in support of environmental permits.
Westervelt Ecological Services, Burke Ranch Conservation Bank, Solano County, California.
Vinnedge Environmental Consulting is responsible for completing protocol level surveys for Delta green ground beetle and California tiger salamander within a 960-acre conservation bank locate in Solano County. We have assisted the client with development of mitigation banking documents and technical reports in support of establishing a USFWS-approved mitigation bank with credits available for listed species.
The Covello Group, Novato Sanitary District Wastewater Treatment Expansion Project, Marin County, California.
Vinnedge Environmental Consulting is responsible for construction compliance and monitoring the expansion of the Novato Sanitary District and Ignacio wastewater treatment plants. The proposed project included installation of over 2-miles of 16-inch underground pipeline that extended under Novato Creek. Services included all pre-construction surveys, environmental awareness training, construction monitoring, post-construction monitoring and completion of annual reports in support of environmental permits. |
